My name is Jarett, and am an artist based out of Calgary. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2007 at the University of Lethbridge. I'm inspired by music, counter/pop culture, and by the imaginary. I draw stories trapped in a moment, narratives of the unreal which communicate real emotions. And sometimes I just want to make something that looks bad ass.
I have created artwork for a wide variety of projects including, album covers, gig posters, editorial illustrations, storyboards, music festival promo material and more.
In 2012 two music videos I created animations for were nominated for awards, one for a Juno for Video of the Year, and the other for an MMVA for MuchLoud Rock Video of the Year. Currently I have a monthly column in Freq Magazine entitled "Under the Covers" where I interview fellow illustrators about album covers they have created artwork for.
